Timetables

Has anybody recieved their updated timetables yet, I handed in the option form on friday and was told it would be done over the weekend. I have checked my online timetable but it hasn't been updated so i have no idea on new class times and places. Is anybody else having the same problem with this?

A few words about me and my interests:

I come from southern Poland. To the UK I arrived as soon as Poland became a member of EU that was almost 2 years ago. For approx. 2 years I was preoccupied with English language studying at City of Bristol College. Along with my gradually (and slowly) improving English I worked as a network administrator. Not too long ago I've decided to go for a degree in Internet area, which I found particularly interesting nowadays.

As far as my education is concerned, I have graduated in Poland after 3 long years of intensive studying. As a result, I achieved BSc degree with specialization in CAD/CAM.

My three major interests and passions are Computer Science, Maths and Graphics, and I believe that there is a creative fusion between all these disciplines. Apart from that I am really into Philosophy, Sociology of culture, Religious studies, Astronomy and of course billiards and volleyball.

I came from Grenoble, France with Malik, where we have studied Computer Sciences for two years and got a diploma called DUT (University Technological Diploma)

This year, we've decided to improve our english and try a new experience so we came to Bristol for a Internet Applications year, and I hope that this will be a good experience.

Denis Uskov - Brief Profile

I am Russian student who has left his home 3 years ago. I spent  2 years in Dublin (Ireland) doing HND in Computing at Portobello College,now struggling to obtain degree at UWE,Bristol.
I have mostly high level marks in diploma (merits and distinctions only), which doesn't mean I'm a nerd :-)) 

I was born in Omsk,Russia. This is west part of Siberia where the climate is inclement, +30C in summer and -30C during winter times are average temperatures. So I can easily stand cold
and winds, hate fogs and rain though...

I have been graduated from Omsk State Academy of Ministry of Internal Affairs in 2004 (degree in Law). Then I suddenly decided to study abroad and obtain another degree in Computer Science or related discipline,which I believe Internet Applications
would be.

My hobbies are Icehockey due to climate conditions, Soccer due to the fact Chelsea belongs to Abramovich and IT due to my education programme.

Option 1

Option 1 provides a choice between between a dissertation module and the programming module. The choice really depends on your interests - do you want to do an individual programming project or produce a written research dissertation on a wider subject of your choosing. It depends perhaps on your strengths and weaknesses - perhaps you think that you need to develop your report writing skills or maybe you want to play to your strengths as a programmer.

You will have an individual tutor assigned to you for either module. I know more about the IS dissertation than the programming project so I will try to find out more about it.

There are introductory sessions which will go into more detail on Friday. Since neither are timetabled, you dont have to decide until after the sessions.

Brief History - Daniel Clarke

As asked here is a brief history of my self

I was born in St Albans, Hertfordshire, and later moved to tring (nr watford). After completing my GCSE, the family then moved to Salisbury, Wiltshire. I enrolled at Salisbury college, on the BTEC National diploma for IT practitioners. I Passed the course with a Merit, Pass, Pass (pretty bad marks). I stayed on at Salisbury college to complete a HND in Computing. The course ran for two years full time. I finished the course this year with three distinctions in system analysis and design, Programming concepts and visual programming. I also managed to achieve 9 merits in Database Concepts, Data Analysis and Design, Computer Platforms, Information Systems, Multimedia, Information Systems Project, Personal Skills Development, Network Technology and e-Business Strategy. Last but not least I got four passes in Network Concepts, Quality Systems, Web Development and Work Experience. (I blame my northern tutor for the pass in network concepts and Web Development. Let half way through the unit, spent most of his time playing space invaders, and running his escort website)

My hobbies include films (cinema etc) Bowling (haven't been in ages though). I also like Japanese animation and Manga. My favorites include Dragonball z, Fullmetal Alchemist, Naruto, One Piece and Zone of the Enders. There are more, I also have and run my own website (although it never gets updated and is half in complete) http://www.demonhunter.co.uk were I have a guestbook, livejournal. I also host my own stories that I write (although they are heavily influenced by Japanese animation)

I recently moved to Bristol at the 1st of August, when I decided (constantly told to) go to university. I joined the UWE because of the internet applications course. As it was more focused around a particular area that I was interested in, I believed it would be more interesting then constantly doing databases. Although I am a little worried about the exams, (why can't it all be coursework based.) I still think that it should be fun

Well wasn't exactly brief but there you go.
